A Fourfold Win for Helpany: Best of Show, Gold, and Silver at the McKnight’s Tech Awards
Helpany is proud to share that it has achieved a remarkable fourfold victory at the prestigious McKnight’s Excellence in Technology Awards. The honors include Gold for Innovator of the Year, Gold for Resident Monitoring and Safety, Silver for Falls Prevention, and the coveted Best of Show Award—the competition’s highest distinction.
Helpany has been recognized with four honors at the 2025 McKnight’s Excellence in Technology Awards, including the competition’s highest distinction, Best of Show.
The company received:
- Gold – Innovator of the Year
- Gold – Resident Monitoring and Safety
- Silver – Falls Prevention
- Best of Show Award
The Best of Show Award is presented to the single solution that rises above all categories—recognizing not only technological innovation, but also meaningful, measurable impact on senior care.
Helpany received this distinction in partnership with Fellowship Square Mesa, where its radar-based monitoring device, Paul, enabled proactive interventions and drove a 70% reduction in resident falls. Judges praised the project for setting a new benchmark in safety, dignity, and independence for older adults.
Paul has proven to be a game-changer by analyzing residents’ unique motion patterns and sending real-time preventive alerts to caregivers. This empowers staff to detect subtle changes in a resident’s condition and prevent falls before they occur—particularly at night, when incidents are most common. Functioning as a 24/7 virtual caregiver assistant, the Helpany device strengthens care teams with timely insights and supports more effective interventions.
“Falls are a major concern for every senior community. At Fellowship Square Mesa, we aimed to pioneer effective fall-prevention strategies while preserving the independence and dignity of our residents,” said Jon Scott Williams, Executive Director, Fellowship Square Mesa. “With Helpany, we can identify residents at risk and intervene proactively—leading to higher resident satisfaction, fewer falls, and longer resident relationships.”
Unlike invasive, camera-based monitoring systems that compromise privacy, Fellowship Square Mesa chose Helpany’s AI- and radar-based technology, which delivers powerful protection without sacrificing residents’ dignity.
“Thanks to Helpany, we not only reduced falls by 70%, but also enhanced efficiency and effectiveness—enabling us to elevate the quality of care we provide,” added Tawnya Christensen, Assisted Living Director, Fellowship Square Mesa. “This technology has transformed our approach to fall prevention, creating a safer environment for residents, instilling a strong culture of prevention among staff, and reducing anxiety for families.”
“Winning two Golds, a Silver, and Best of Show is a tremendous honor—but what matters most are the results behind it,” said Sandro Cilurzo, CEO & Co-Founder, Helpany. “At Fellowship Square Mesa, we achieved a 70% reduction in falls within just two months, thanks to our radar-based AI and the dedication of the care team. This recognition validates that proactive, privacy-preserving technology can redefine safety and dignity in senior living—and we’re proud to be leading that change.”
